Breathing Apple Art Furniture Installation
The design of this project retains the basic shape of an apple, but adds irregular indentations and softness to make it appear to have been reshaped by pressure, inviting the viewer to approach, touch and experience it. The indentations created by the flexible core structure give the work the quality of breathing. Formally, it responds to external pressures with its flexible design. On a deeper level, it represents the philosophical idea of growing from imperfection and the value found in discarded materials, reflecting contemporary thinking about life and the materials used.
