Villa K Private Home
Villa K Private Home
Villa K is a private house built in Toyota City, Japan. Villa K stands next to an existing traditional Japanese wooden house and forms a contrast with the older structure. The building is a single continuous space of 5.4 metres in width and about 100 metres in length, surrounded by concrete walls 380 millimetres thick. The heat storage of the concrete keeps the interior cool in summer and warm in winter. The house contains an atelier and gallery for painting and pottery, a pool, a billiards area and a garage. Large rocks removed from the riverbed are used in the landscape design.
