K Villa
K Villa
K is a villa located in Nasu, Tochigi, Japan. The floors, walls and roofs are treated as thin separate planes rather than joined volumes. Slender columns of 90 millimetres in diameter support the reinforced concrete slabs, so the structure appears light. The underside of each tapered slab is finished with a stainless steel mirror, which reflects the surrounding landscape. Internal partitions are reduced to a minimum, so the rooms flow into one another. The design aims to connect daily life with the nature around the house.
